Independent Mail: Dan Cooper named Business Legislator of the Year ANDERSON - The South Carolina Coalition for Small Business and Entrepreneurship has chosen Rep. Dan Cooper, R-Anderson, to receive its second annual South Carolina Small Business Legislator of the Year Award. The Small Business Legislator of the Year is selected for assistance provided to small businesses, including legislation support and voting record, as well as leadership qualities and community involvement. Rep. Cooper is a partner in Capstone Insurance Services in Greenville. Under his leadership, the company has experienced dramatic growth, increasing from four to 20 employees. As a legislator, Rep. Cooper sponsored the Small Business Health Insurance Act, the Endowed Chairs for Universities and Technical Colleges initiative and South Carolina film industry incentives.
