Independent Mail (Anderson, SC): S.C. House moving ahead with work on fiscal year 2010-11 budget
This week, a hard copy printout of a proposed state budget for fiscal year 2010-11 has been placed on the desk of each member of the South Carolina House of Representatives. By House rule, the members will have a full legislative week to review the budget and prepare any amendments they may have, according to the office of Speaker of the House Bobby Harrell, R-Charleston. Next week, the budget will be debated on the House floor. The Ways and Means Committee, which is led by Rep. Dan Cooper, R-Piedmont, will begin its official budget briefing today 90 minutes after adjournment of the full House, according to the speaker's office. The proposed budget is available online.
